Scouting Report:
Chekwa displays great vertical speed and good size for the position. Had 39 starts in his career in Ohio St., being named to the All-Big Ten first team and a Jim Thorpe award semifinalist. Needs to work in his hips fluidity and needs to be more physical against stronger receivers. Displays good football IQ and leadership ability. Chekwa didn’t have many playing time in his first NFL season, getting placed in the IR because of a hamstring injury after just 4 games, including 1 a starter. He’s an intriguing player with good potential and a high ceiling, and has a chance of getting a starting role sooner rather than later.
