189. Oakland Raiders: Ronald Leary, G, Memphis

For the purposes of this particular Mock Draft, the Raiders drafted Senio Kelemente in the 5th round as a Tackle, not a Guard. With Ronald Leary the Raiders get another smaller, athletic offensive lineman that fits well for the Zone-Blocking system. He uses his frame well and keeps himself in an uncompromising position at all times, but he has issue’s disengaging contact to get to the second level which is something he will really need to work on. Cooper Carlisle is aging and the Raiders will most likely need a replacement in a year. Leary played well last year, and had a good combine, but played against mediocre talent. I think he can be a serviceable starter down the line. He reminds me of current Raider Mike Brisiel. He shares the same nastiness and run-blocking style of Brisiel. Under Brisiel’s wing, Leary should share the same success.
