San Diego Chargers Pre-Draft Schedule Breakdown-Spring Edition
Christmas in April came on Tuesday. It’s the day we can all get out our pens or pencils and start putting W’s and L’s next to games that are actually going to happen.
The NFL Draft hasn’t happened yet, therefore much can change between now and Week 1 in terms of overall season outlooks for all 32 teams. I’m going to assume the best for everyone and predict that the needs of all four AFC West teams are met in the draft and fire away with some off the cuff predictions. I’ll do one now and again in August to see what, if anything has changed for each of them.
Today, we’ll focus on San Diego. Young in some places, old in others, the Chargers are gonna have a tough go of it this fall. I think the pressure on Norv Turner combined with the aging of some key players and roster turnover might very well be a recipe for disaster for the Bolts. Here’s how I see the season playing out for them:
Sep 10 @ Raiders-L
Sep 16 Titans-W
Sep 23 Falcons-L
Sep 30 @Chiefs-L
Oct 7 @Saints-L
Oct 15 Broncos-L
Oct 28 @ Browns-W
Nov 1 Chiefs-W
Nov 11 @ Bucs-W
Nov 18 @ Broncos-L
Nov 25 Ravens-L
Dec 2 Bengals-L
Dec 9 @ Steelers-L
Dec 16 Panthers-L
Dec 23 @ Jets-W
Dec 30 Raiders-L
The NFL seemed to be banking on a big year from the Chargers with 5 prime-time appearances scheduled. Unfortunately for the Chargers, I believe this allows for 5 chances for the nation to see how far this franchise has fallen and reiterate the popular belief that Norv Turner has overstayed his welcome.
Final record (5-11)
