Raiders Continue to Fill Out Coaching Staff; USC’s Gilmore Added
Dennis Allen continues to add bright, young coaches to his staff as the Raiders prepare for the upcoming season.
Allen has hired Ted Gilmore to coach the wide receivers in Oakland, according to Football Scoop. Gilmore, 44, coached USC’s receivers last season and was named receivers coach of the year by Football Scoop, ironically.
Gilmore has coached receivers at the college level since 1994, with the exception of 1999, when he coached tight ends for Kansas. Before signing on with USC, he was Nebraska’s assistant head coach for two seasons.
The Raiders have made a flurry of coaching moves within the last week, adding Greg Knapp, Jason Tarver, John Grieco, Justin Griffith, Steve Hoffman, Al Miller, and Frank Pollack.
Allen is expected to fill out the rest of the coaching staff by Saturday, though it’s unclear when the names of those coaches will become public.
Here’s a video of Gilmore being interviewed last November:
