Big E’s 5 Keys to Victory

1) Eliminate Turnovers (and the points they translate to).

2010 Raiders finished at (-2) turnover margin (2011 at same figure) which translated to 86 opponent points. This season the Raiders are ahead of that pace with 48 points via turnovers.

2) Contain Tebow within the tackles, set the edge and TACKLE in

open field

Playground football is Tebow’s comfort zone, he must be kept in the middle of the field.

3) Stop the run and force Tebow to throw.

He has handled pressure poorly and can be forced into errant throws.

4) No “explosive ” plays (plays of 20 yards or greater).

2010 Raiders yielded 86 explosive plays, that is in excess of 5 PER GAME. This has direct correlation to an undisciplined defense (i.e. gap control, run fits etc.).

Have yielded 31 year to date which is a reduction of 1/game versus last year (on average). This figure still must be reduced if the defense is to be considered mature and effective.

4) Reduce penalties.

Currently on record pace (69 for 600 yards) and have surrendered
26 FIRST DOWNS via penalties

Some aggressive penalties are inherent with a predominately man to man scheme. Drive prolonging pre snap penalties (offsides, false start, illegal motion etc.) must be eradicated.

5) Run the ball and score TD’s in red zone.

Denver is not a prolific offense but controlling the clock and maximizing scoring opportunities will crush their will and is how you “build a bully’ and are victorious.
